Community guardrails
Trade locally, with sensible boundaries.
Local Finds keeps exact handoff details private and gives the community tools to report and block. These habits still matter at every exchange. Before you agree
Read the description, quantity, price, pickup area, and delivery terms. Ask specific questions when a claim or condition matters to you. Nothing is reserved until the seller accepts a request.
- Keep communication attached to the request.
- Do not publish phone numbers or exact home addresses.
- Cancel early when plans change.
Meet and inspect safely
Use a sensible public or familiar community meeting point when possible. Tell someone where you are going, inspect the item before paying, and leave if the item or situation is materially different from what was agreed.
- Pay only the price agreed directly with the seller.
- Protect perishable food during transport.
- Never continue a handover that feels unsafe.
Food and product responsibility
Local Finds does not inspect, certify, store, deliver, or take ownership of listed goods. Sellers are responsible for accurate descriptions and for following the rules that apply to their product and activity. Buyers remain responsible for deciding whether an item is suitable for them.
- Do not make unsupported organic, medical, nutritional, or safety claims.
- Disclose ingredients, allergens, storage needs, dates, and condition when relevant.
- Do not list recalled, spoiled, illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or dangerous items.
Report and block
Report a listing that appears misleading, prohibited, unsafe, or spam. Moderators can remove listings and suspend accounts. Blocking hides interactions between two accounts. For immediate danger or an official food-safety complaint, contact the relevant public authority; a marketplace report is not an emergency service.
